Please arrive between 11:45 and 12:15 to allow for networking and to place your lunch order. After insightful introductions starting promptly at 12:20 p.m., we will spend around 15 minutes sharing. So, as we near our next meeting, please consider the following:
Did you gain a resource, form of support, or referral from a member that you would like to recognize?
Did you have a one-on-on with another member, and what most impressed you in what you learned?
Did you realize a big win or success you would like to share with the group?
Be ready to share and continue to get to know one another in our efforts to Build Trust! I will also be sharing some insights from the survey.
Keeping More of What You Earn!
Implications of New Tax Law
In December of 2017, the President signed into law the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act (“TCJA”), the most sweeping tax legislation enacted in the last 30 years. One provision of the TCJA was new Section 199A of the
Internal Revenue Code (“Code”), which provides the owners of certain pass-through businesses -- sole proprietorships, partnerships, S-corporations, trusts and estates -- with a deduction for up to 20% of “qualified business income.” The deduction is limited or eliminated, however, based on the type of business, the taxable income of the owner(s), the amount of wages the business pays and the amount of tangible property it owns. How does this affect the consulting industry, and what
can you do to reap the rewards? Our own Julie Bradlow will share the ins and outs and facilitate discussion and brainstorming.
