October 29 – Have something to prove? Are your goals and actions driven by a need to prove you are worthy or right? Do you need validation to feel as though you are making progress or an impact? Are you less motivated if it is dependent solely on your
own confidence and commitment without anyone else’s affirmation? Has proving something become an obsession to the point of distraction in other areas of your business or life?
The world gets better every day through someone proving there is a better way or solution. This is what makes entrepreneurship so rewarding. However, if your focus on “proving” is centered around your own self-doubt, feeding your ego, a need for control, or your need to be right,
you may be holding back your business rather than helping it. Shift from a focus on being right or being validated, which narrows your thinking, to a focus on what could be your next idea, next level of excellence or the next best problem to solve, which expands your thinking. Expand your thinking and you’ll expand your opportunities.
