Dec 22 – From the heart or the wallet? How do you approach giving when it comes to friends, family, co-workers, team members, or your business? Especially during a holiday season, is it more from an obligation than inspiration? Are you giving because you feel
like you have to or are you giving because it feels good? Are you allowing the cost of giving to stress you or motivate you to get creative? Are you allowing your relationships to empower your mindset or what is expected? Do you feel your giving must be tangible to be appreciated? Do you feel it must have a specific price tag associated with it to be valued?

Don’t allow the pressure to give take away the joy that can come from giving for you and to others. Remember that giving is a choice and it is one that has power and impact when approached for the right reasons.
Take an MM&I Moment to reawaken to what the true meaning
of giving could be for you. What talents do you have that could be appreciated and be put to use instead of purchasing something or giving a cash donation? What time could you give that could potentially be more valuable than any material gift? How could your money go further in how you use it to give in a way that continues to give? How could you demonstrate your appreciation or commitment through your actions, versus merely through your bank account? Life’s moments are treasured most
when fully experienced. Remember that the most powerful aspect of giving is the experience that is associated with it. The smallest of gestures reaps the greatest reward when given from a caring heart.

REPRESENTED NAWIC CHARLOTTE AT YOUNG LEADER CONFERENCE: Sherre' served as a panelist at the Association of General Contractors Emerging Leader Conference held at the Westin Hotel in downtown Charlotte, Thursday, November 4th. The topic was: Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Roundtable.
